Jupiter Edge Credit Card: Fees, Rewards & Real Value

⚠ Verify product type (DEBIT-first neobank product): Jupiter Edge is primarily a DEBIT card on the Jupiter neobank account (powered by Federal Bank / CSB Bank). Although Jupiter has experimented with credit-line and pay-later add-ons, the headline “Edge” product is debit-based. Verify the latest product variant on jupiter.money before applying. The Jupiter Edge is a fintech credit card issued by Federal Bank and operated by Jupiter (the neobanking app). It’s one of the few Indian credit cards offering a truly zero-fee model combined with modern app-first features. Think of it as OneCard’s direct competitor — very similar positioning, slightly different trade-offs.

Fees and charges

Joining fee₹0
Annual fee₹0 (lifetime free)
Welcome benefitNone (occasional promo ₹500 cashback)
Foreign markup1.49% + GST (competitive for a free card)
Cash withdrawal fee2.5% (min ₹500)
Finance charges~2.50–3.50% per month

How rewards work

  • All online spend: 1% Jupiter Jewels (the in-app reward currency) — redeemable as cash credit 1:1
  • Offline spend: 0.4–0.5% Jewels
  • Boost categories (rotating monthly): up to 5× Jewels (Zomato, Swiggy, Myntra, BookMyShow historically)
  • Excluded: rent, fuel, wallet loads, EMI conversions
  • Redemption: Jupiter Jewels convert to cash credit at 1:1 instantly in-app

The Jupiter app integration

  • Transaction-level categorisation + spending insights built into the primary banking app
  • One-tap freeze / unfreeze, per-merchant spending limits, international-spend enable/disable
  • Pots (savings goals) integration — set aside a % of each transaction automatically
  • Customer service via in-app chat (24×7) — but no phone support

What’s missing

  • No lounge access whatsoever
  • No welcome benefit in standard application (vs. OneCard which also has none)
  • Reward rate (1%) trails traditional bank cards with annual fees
  • Requires Jupiter app installation + KYC — can’t be used standalone
  • Underlying bank (Federal) has smaller branch network outside metros

Vs. OneCard

Both are lifetime-free fintech cards with metal / premium body and mobile-first apps. OneCard has the top-2-category 5× multiplier (effective 2.5%); Jupiter Edge has the boost-category approach (rotating monthly). OneCard’s 1% forex is marginally better than Jupiter’s 1.49%. For users already on Jupiter for banking, Edge is the natural pick; for standalone application, OneCard typically wins on reward rate consistency.

Who this card is for

  • Best fit: existing Jupiter banking users who want a consolidated app experience
  • Best fit: first-time credit card users wanting a zero-risk start
  • Best fit: users who want per-transaction categorisation and savings-goal integration
  • Skip if: you don’t use Jupiter for banking — app dependency adds friction
  • Skip if: you can qualify for a bank-issued card with higher reward rate
Verdict: A sensible zero-fee option for Jupiter-first users. The 1.49% forex markup is genuinely competitive. The main trade-off is the 1% base earn rate, which is below what even ₹500-fee cards offer. As a first card or a secondary card for Jupiter users, it’s a fine choice.
Jupiter Edge’s reward categories and boost multipliers change monthly. Check the active boost categories in the Jupiter app before optimising spend.
