5× accelerator on Swiggy + Zomato: 20 reward points per ₹150 (6.67% headline at ₹0.50/point). The 4× bonus portion (16 of the 20 pts per ₹150) is capped at 2,500 RP per calendar month combined across Swiggy and Zomato; the base 4 pts per ₹150 keeps earning beyond the cap.
10× SmartBuy: Flights and hotels booked via HDFC SmartBuy earn 10× points (40 RP per ₹150 ≈ 13.3% headline at ₹0.50/point), capped at ~7,500 bonus points per billing cycle (lower than Infinia/Diners Black’s 15K cap).
Redemption: 1 point = ₹0.50 on SmartBuy flight/hotel; 1 point = ₹0.20 statement credit/cashback; up to ₹0.35 on the Diners Privilege exclusive catalog; airline transfer typically 1 RP : 0.5 mile. Points valid 2 years.
Exclusions: Utility bills capped 1K pts/cycle; wallet loads, rent, tax, insurance, EMI conversions earn zero. Fuel zero earn (1% surcharge waiver applies).

Usage terms & fine print
Lounge access
Until 30 Jun 2026: 8 lounges/year worldwide, split as 2 per calendar quarter, ungated (unused quarterly allowance doesn’t carry over). Primary + first add-on share the quota. International access via Diners Travel Tool app.
From 1 Jul 2026: 2 domestic + 1 international per calendar quarter, gated by ₹60,000 spend in the preceding calendar quarter — example: lounge access for Jul–Sep 2026 unlocks only if Apr–Jun 2026 spend ≥ ₹60K. This is a meaningful structural change — heavy users still come out fine, but low-spend / sock-drawer holders lose lounges entirely.
Fuel surcharge waiver
1% fuel surcharge waiver on ₹400-₹5,000 transactions, capped ₹250/month. Fuel transactions don’t earn reward points.
Interest-free period
Interest-free credit up to 50 days. Minimum payment 5% or ₹200. Statement on assigned cycle date.
EMI conversion
Smart EMI on transactions ₹2,500+. Tenures 3/6/9/12/18/24 months. Interest 0-1.5% p.m. Processing fee 1%.
Digital wallets & UPI
Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay supported on Mastercard-co-branded variant. Diners-only variant supports PayPal too. No direct RuPay-UPI.
Insurance cover
Air accident cover up to $125,000 (≈₹1.04 crore at current FX), emergency overseas hospitalisation up to $31,250, baggage delay cover up to $625, and ₹9 lakh credit liability cover (lost-card liability). Always read the issuer’s policy document for exact terms and exclusions.

HDFC Diners Black (₹10K) →
Step-up Diners with unlimited domestic lounges, 6 international/qtr, higher SmartBuy cap. Step up at ₹5L+ spend.
HDFC Regalia Gold (₹2,500) →
Higher fee but bigger welcome bundle (₹2.5K voucher + Swiggy One + MMT Black Gold). More lounges (12+6). 5× on different brands (Myntra/M&S/RD/Nykaa).
HDFC Swiggy (LTF) (comparison coming soon)
Lifetime free with 10% cashback on Swiggy. Purer food-delivery play but no lounge/no milestone.
Axis Magnus (₹12,500) (comparison coming soon)
Super-premium step-up with transfer partners. 10× the fee — only worth it at ₹10L+ spend.
Who the HDFC Diners Club Privilege is for
Diners Club Privilege is ideal for urban professionals spending ₹25-50K/month who order food on Swiggy/Zomato regularly, book occasional travel via SmartBuy, and can hit the ₹3L annual fee-waiver threshold. The welcome bundle + quarterly vouchers make Year 1 genuinely free (₹5-8K value against ₹1,180 fee). It’s arguably the best-value entry into the HDFC premium ecosystem.
Not the right card if: you’re in a tier-2/3 location where Diners acceptance is patchy and you can’t get the Mastercard-co-branded variant. Also not right if your primary spend is utilities/rent (capped or excluded). Consider HDFC Millennia (LTF) or Swiggy HDFC (LTF) for those profiles.
How to apply & how to cancel
Apply: Apply via hdfcbank.com/diners-privilege or in NetBanking (pre-approved for existing HDFC customers). Instant soft-pull eligibility; full approval 3-5 days; card delivery 7-10 days. Video-KYC available. New applicants are often issued the Mastercard-co-branded variant for wider acceptance.
Cancel: Call PhoneBanking (1800 266 3310) or Diners helpdesk. Clear all dues; redeem points before closure (forfeited on close). Renewal fee non-refundable 30 days past renewal.
Final verdict
HDFC Diners Club Privilege is arguably the best-value credit card under ₹2,000 fee in India. The combination of 5× Swiggy/Zomato, 10× SmartBuy, quarterly + annual milestone vouchers, and Year 1 welcome memberships makes it a no-brainer for any mid-income Swiggy/Zomato user. The Diners-acceptance concern has largely been resolved by Mastercard-co-branded variants. Very strong pick.
Frequently asked questions
What is the welcome benefit threshold?
Spend ₹75,000 within 90 days of card issuance to unlock the free Swiggy One and Times Prime memberships.
Is Diners Privilege a credit card or charge card?
Credit card with revolving credit and interest-free period up to 50 days.
How does Diners Privilege differ from Diners Black?
Privilege (₹1,000 fee): 8 lounges/year, 10× SmartBuy capped 7.5K bonus pts/cycle, welcome ₹2.7K value. Diners Black (₹10K): unlimited domestic + 6 international lounges/qtr, 10× cap 15K bonus pts, Y1 memberships worth ₹8K+. Step up if you spend ₹5L+/year.
Is the Mastercard-co-branded variant different on benefits?
No — same benefits. The Mastercard co-brand is only about wider POS acceptance (resolves tier-2/3 merchant refusals). New applicants often receive this by default in 2026.
What is the BOGO BookMyShow offer?
Buy 1 BookMyShow ticket and get 1 free for Fri/Sat/Sun shows — discount capped at ₹250 per ticket, up to 2 free tickets per calendar month per the April 2026 T&C. Apply via the BMS Diners Privilege card option at checkout.
Can I get both Swiggy One and Times Prime on one welcome?
Yes — spending ₹75K in first 90 days unlocks both memberships together. Separately, Swiggy One renews each year as long as card is active and fee paid; Times Prime is Y1 only.
Does Diners Privilege support UPI?
Mastercard-co-branded variant is Mastercard network — no direct UPI linking. RuPay-on-UPI not supported. Works via Google Pay/PhonePe for Mastercard-accepting online merchants.
What is the ₹5L milestone — cult.fit/BMS/TataCLiQ/Ola voucher?
On spending ₹5 lakh in your Cardmembership year, HDFC credits ₹500 monthly voucher for the next 12 months. You choose one brand: cult.fit 1-month membership, BookMyShow, TataCLiQ, or Ola cabs. Total value ₹6,000/year.
Can I upgrade from Privilege to Diners Black?
Yes — HDFC allows horizontal upgrade within Diners family. Tenure and credit limit carry over. Eligibility: salaried ₹1.75L+/month for Diners Black.
Are reward points transferable to family?
HDFC’s reward programme allows add-on holders’ spends to add to the primary’s reward balance. Points themselves are tied to the primary cardholder’s account — not transferable between separate HDFC accounts.
