HDFC Business Platinum Credit Card Review

HDFC Bank · Entry business · Visa Platinum
Our score: 6.7 / 10
Annual fee: ₹1,500 + GST
Reward: cashback (NOT points) — 1% on retail at ≥₹50K cycle balance / 0.5% at ≥₹10K
Lounge: Visa Business Platinum domestic lounge access (per issuer)
Forex: 3.5%
Discontinued for new sourcing. The current HDFC Business Platinum issuer page states: "Sourcing of this Credit Card has been stopped. Existing customers of this card will continue to enjoy the benefits." For new business cards, look at HDFC Biz First / Biz Power / Biz Black instead.
Important correction: HDFC Business Platinum is a cashback card, not a Reward-Points card. Earlier versions of this review described an "RP per ₹150 with business accelerators" structure — that was inaccurate. The actual benefit is statement-balance-tiered cashback (details below).

Best for: Existing Business Platinum holders evaluating retention vs upgrade. Not currently available to new applicants.

What we like
  • 1% cashback on retail spends if cycle minimum statement balance ≥ ₹50,000 (0.5% if balance ≥ ₹10,000)
  • Flat 1% cashback on international spends of ₹10,000 or more per statement cycle
  • Visa Business Platinum airport lounge access (programme details on Visa's portal)
  • Fuel surcharge waiver: ₹400–₹5,000 transactions, max ₹500 per statement cycle
  • Zero lost-card liability after reporting
  • SmartPay for utility-bill auto-pay; Single Interface (Credit / Debit / FASTag) in HDFC NetBanking
Watch out for
  • Closed to new applications since 2025 — existing customers only
  • Cashback is conditional — you only earn the 1% if your minimum statement balance for the cycle is at least ₹50,000; below ₹10,000, you earn nothing
  • Cashback excludes wallet uploads, fuel and (domestically) international transactions
  • No reward points / no airline-mile transfer paths
  • Successor cards (HDFC Biz Power / Biz Black / Biz Grow) offer a richer programme
  • Forex markup 3.5% on intl spends

Rewards structure

HDFC Business Platinum is a conditional cashback programme, not a reward-points card. Per the current issuer page:

  • 1% cashback on retail spends when the cycle's minimum statement balance is ₹50,000 or more.
  • 0.5% cashback on retail spends when the cycle's minimum statement balance is ₹10,000 or more (but below ₹50,000).
  • Flat 1% cashback on international spends of ₹10,000 or more in a statement cycle.
  • Cashback credits to the subsequent statement.
  • Excluded from the domestic-cashback computation: wallet uploads, fuel transactions, and international spends (which sit on the separate intl-cashback rail).

Key benefits

  • Conditional cashback (1% / 0.5% tiered by minimum cycle statement balance, per issuer page)
  • Flat 1% cashback on international spends ≥ ₹10,000 / cycle
  • Visa Business Platinum lounge access at participating Indian airports
  • Fuel surcharge waiver ₹400–₹5,000, max ₹500/cycle
  • GST-categorised monthly statements
  • 1% fuel surcharge waiver
  • Spend waiver at ₹2L annual

Who the HDFC Business Platinum is for

Established small businesses that don't need BizPower's SmartBuy multipliers. Fits a ₹1-2L/month spend pattern well.

Final verdict

A pragmatic business card for small firms. Sits between BizFirst and BizPower. Most users are better off picking BizFirst (cheaper) or BizPower (better rewards).
