Rewards structure

BizFirst rewards are CashPoints (a percentage-back programme), not reward points per ₹150. Per the current issuer page:

  • 3% CashPoints on EMI spends — capped at 1,000 CashPoints / calendar month
  • 2% CashPoints on Utility bills, Electronics, SmartPay & PayZapp transactions — capped at 500 CashPoints / calendar month
  • 1% CashPoints on all other spends including UPI — capped at 500 CashPoints / calendar month
  • RuPay BizFirst variant earns the same 1% on UPI transactions.

Effective ceiling is ~2,000 CashPoints / month if you maximise all three buckets. Earlier versions of this review described the rewards as RP-based at 2 pts/₹150 — that was inaccurate.

Key benefits

  • Welcome: ₹250 gift voucher on first transaction within 37 days of card issuance
  • 1% fuel surcharge waiver (min ₹400 txn) — verify cycle/cap in current MITC
  • 55 days interest-free credit period on retail spends (issuer-confirmed)
  • SmartBuy BizDeals — up to 40% savings on biz travel/software, 4% off flights/hotels, 10% extra off dining (35,000+ restaurants), instant discounts on Google Workspace / Tally Prime / AWS / Microsoft Azure
  • Easy EMI on transactions ₹2,000+
  • GST invoice for Input Tax Credit
  • Zero lost-card liability after reporting
  • Optional Business Insurance add-on from ₹3,785 / year (Fire/Burglary, Cash, Electronic Equipment, Hospital Cash)

Who the HDFC BizFirst is for

A first business card for small retailers, freelancers or one-person consultancies doing ₹1-3L card spend a year. At this volume, the ₹500 fee is almost free after the spend waiver kicks in.

Final verdict

BizFirst is HDFC's entry-ticket into business cards — light on fees, light on rewards. It is fine as a starter or as a secondary card for GST tracking, but anyone spending ₹5L+ a year should step up to BizPower or BizBlack for meaningfully better economics.

FAQ

Is BizFirst a separate credit line from my personal card?

Yes — the card issues under your business entity's name (or as a sole proprietor), with a separate credit limit from any personal HDFC card.

Does BizFirst show up in my personal CIBIL?

Only the proprietor's guarantor signature shows in personal CIBIL. The card's usage reports to the commercial bureau (CIBIL MSME), not the personal bureau.

Can I add multiple employee cards?

Yes — add-on cards are free for life, though each carries a shared credit limit.

Fees and features verified against the issuer's public website. Benefits may vary; always confirm current terms with the issuer before applying.
