Last reviewed: April 2026. Verified against the official Axis Reserve product page. Recent T&C updates effective 1 Sep 2023, 20 April 2024 and 20 June 2025 are reflected. Discontinued benefits to know: Complimentary Luxury Airport Transfers (w.e.f. 20 April 2024) and Oberoi hotel offers (w.e.f. 1 October 2025) have been retired. The Axis EDGE transfer partner mix was also refreshed (Accor / Marriott / Qatar removed as transfer partners; BA / Vietnam / Finnair added). Note: Accorplus and Club Marriott Asia Pacific complimentary memberships remain active — they are separate from the EDGE transfer partnership.
TL;DR: Axis Reserve is Axis’s highest-fee super-premium card at ₹50,000. The standout feature is the 50,000 reward points (₹50,000 value) credited on both card activation AND every renewal — the fee is literally returned as value every year. Combined with 50 golf rounds/year, unlimited international lounges (with 12 guest visits), EazyDiner Prime, and a class-leading 7.5% base earn rate (15 pts per ₹200), this card delivers enormous value for HNI spenders doing ₹10L+/year.
What we like
  • 50,000 RP (₹50K value) on activation AND on each renewal — fee fully offset every year
  • Class-leading 15 RP per ₹200 base rate (7.5% headline)
  • 2× points on international spends (30 RP per ₹200 = 15% effective)

  • EazyDiner Prime membership included (worth ₹1,500)
  • Complimentary Club Marriott Asia Pacific, Accorplus and Club ITC Culinaire hotel-loyalty memberships
  • Complimentary Swiggy One membership (added recently)
  • 15% savings at Postcard Hotel + complimentary BookMyShow tickets + airport concierge
  • Low 1.5% forex markup (among the lowest in premium segment)
  • Air accident cover ₹3 crore; overseas medical ₹1 crore
Watch out for
  • ₹59,000 total annual fee (incl GST) — highest in mainstream Axis lineup
  • No milestone bonuses beyond the 50K annual RP credit
  • Category exclusions: utilities, insurance, fuel, gold/jewellery, wallet, government payments earn zero points
  • April 2026: Accor / Marriott / Qatar removed as EDGE transfer partners (added BA / Vietnam / Finnair) — note: complimentary hotel memberships at Marriott / Accor are unchanged
  • Discontinued (20 April 2024): Complimentary Luxury Airport Transfers (was a flagship perk)
  • Discontinued (1 October 2025): Oberoi hotel and resort offers
  • No spend-based fee waiver — ₹59K always payable

Primary cardholder: 18–70 years; add-on cardholder: 15+ years

Typical income target

Axis does not publish a fixed income threshold. Industry guidance suggests ₹30-50L+ annual income or Axis Priority Banking tier (₹10L+ AQB or ₹40L+ TRV).

780+ with clean repayment history

Typical credit limit

₹5 lakh – ₹25 lakh+ at issuance based on profile

Documents

PAN, Aadhaar, 3-month salary slips + 6-month bank statements (salaried) OR last 2 years ITR (self-employed), address proof, relationship documents

Rewards structure

Base earn: 15 reward points per ₹200 spent on eligible categories — that’s 7.5% headline rate at 1 RP = ₹1 transfer value, among the highest in India.

International spends: 30 reward points per ₹200 (2× base rate) on international transactions — effectively 15% earn on foreign-currency spending. Combined with 1.5% forex markup, this is one of the strongest international-spend cards in India.

Exclusions (zero earn): Utility bills, insurance premiums, fuel, gold/jewellery purchases, wallet loads, government payments, rent. These are standard Axis exclusions.

Transfer partners: Points transfer at 5:4 ratio to airline/hotel partners. April 2026 update: Accor, Marriott Bonvoy, Qatar Airways removed; British Airways Avios, Vietnam Airlines, Finnair added. Current Group A partners include Singapore KrisFlyer, Etihad Guest, Air India Flying Returns, British Airways Avios, Turkish Miles&Smiles.

Transfer caps: Group A: 2L EDGE points/year; Group B: 8L EDGE points/year (same caps as Magnus Burgundy).

Redemption: 1 RP = ₹0.20 statement; 5:4 airline transfer typical; EDGE catalogue at 1 RP = ₹0.20-0.25. Premium-cabin long-haul redemptions can reach 15-20% value.

Welcome benefits & milestones

Welcome bonus: 50,000 reward points (₹50,000 value at 1 RP = ₹1 transfer) credited on card activation. This single benefit offsets most of the ₹59K annual fee in Year 1.

Annual renewal bonus: 50,000 reward points every year on payment of renewal fee — this is the standout feature. The welcome-and-renewal structure means the ₹59K fee is offset by ₹50K RP value every single year, not just Year 1.

No additional spend-milestones: Unlike Infinia or Regalia Gold, Axis Reserve doesn’t have additional spend-based milestone bonuses. Value comes from the annual 50K RP + 7.5% base rate.

Burgundy relationship required. Up to 24% travel value. Reserve has higher welcome + renewal RP.

Amex Platinum Charge (₹66K) (comparison coming soon)

Who the Axis Bank Reserve is for

Axis Reserve is for HNI spenders (₹10L+/year) who travel internationally regularly, play golf, and value the guaranteed ₹50K RP renewal credit year-after-year. The 1.5% forex + 2× international earn = 15% effective international earn, which no other Indian card matches. Strong choice for Axis Priority Banking customers.

Not the right card if: your annual spend is below ₹6-8 lakh (the 50K RP renewal credit still offsets the fee, but the card’s full value needs higher spend to unlock). Also not right if you heavily spend on excluded categories (utilities, fuel, wallet) — those earn zero. Consider Axis Magnus (₹12.5K) for similar engine at lower fee.

How to apply & how to cancel

Apply: Axis Priority Banking customers may receive pre-approved offers via NetBanking. Public applicants apply via axisbank.com → Cards → Reserve. Approval 5-7 business days. Delivery 10-14 days. Relationship discussion with Axis RM often speeds process.

Cancel: Call Axis credit card helpline (1860 419 5555). Clear dues; transfer or redeem EDGE Miles before closure (forfeited at closure). Renewal fee non-refundable once 30 days past renewal.

Final verdict

Axis Reserve is one of India’s highest-reward premium cards — the annual 50K RP credit alone offsets ~85% of the ₹59K fee every year, and combined with 7.5% base earn + 2× international, it delivers massive value for HNI spenders. The 50 golf rounds + unlimited intl lounges + 12 guest visits + 1.5% forex make it genuinely competitive with cards costing twice as much. For Axis Priority Banking customers with ₹10L+ spend, this is arguably the best ROI premium card in India.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 50K RP renewal credit guaranteed every year?

Yes — Axis credits 50,000 reward points both on card activation AND on each annual renewal upon payment of the fee. This is built into the Reserve product structure. Worth ~₹50,000 on airline transfer redemption.

Is Axis Reserve invite-only?

Primarily offered via Axis Priority Banking or to HNI applicants. Public applications are accepted but approval rate is selective — typically requires ₹30L+ annual income or existing Axis Priority relationship.

What changed with April 2026 transfer partners?

Axis removed Accor Live Limitless, Marriott Bonvoy, Qatar Airways Privilege Club from the EDGE transfer list. Added British Airways Avios, Vietnam Airlines, Finnair. Group A cap remains 2L RP/year; Group B 8L RP/year.

How does Axis Reserve compare with Magnus Burgundy?

Reserve (₹59K): 50K RP annual credit + 50 golf + 12 guest lounges. Magnus Burgundy (₹35.4K): up to 24% travel value with proper redemption strategy + Burgundy airport meet-and-greet. Reserve offers more deterministic value; Magnus Burgundy higher ceiling with effort.

Is there a Reserve Burgundy / Reserve Private variant?

Axis does not have a formally branded “Reserve Burgundy” or “Reserve Private” sub-variant. Reserve is positioned as the top Axis Priority offering below Magnus Burgundy. Private Banking customers may receive additional relationship-based benefits on Reserve.

What counts as international spend for the 2× earn?

Any transaction processed in foreign currency — including online international merchants (e.g., Apple.com US, overseas hotel bookings), and offline international POS. 30 RP per ₹200 applies.

Are the 50 golf rounds shared across family?

The 50 rounds are for the primary cardholder. Add-on holders and guests can book but pay own green fee unless a specific Axis offer applies.

Does Reserve have milestone bonuses?

No — unlike Regalia Gold or Amex Platinum Travel, Axis Reserve does not offer spend-based milestone bonuses. Value comes from the 50K RP annual credit + 7.5% base earn.

Can I transfer Reserve RP to Flying Returns?

Yes — Flying Returns (Air India, post-merger) is a Group A partner at 5:4 transfer ratio. 1 lakh RP = 80K Flying Returns miles. Premium-cabin long-haul redemptions deliver 15-20%+ value.

Is Axis Reserve worth the ₹59K fee?

For spenders ₹8L+/year, yes — the 50K RP annual credit alone offsets ~85% of the fee. The golf + lounges + insurance bundle easily covers the rest. For spenders below ₹6L, step down to Magnus or plain Axis Reserve isn’t meaningful.
