Reward rate: 4 RP per ₹150 (1 RP = 1 mile)

Discontinued for new sourcing. HDFC has stopped sourcing the Diners Club Miles Credit Card. The current issuer page states: "Sourcing of this Credit Card has been stopped. Existing customers of this card will continue to enjoy the benefits." For new applications, look at HDFC Diners Club Privilege or Black instead.

Best for: Existing Diners Club Miles cardholders deciding whether to keep, downgrade, or product-change to a Privilege/Black variant. Not currently available to new applicants.

What we like
  • 1 RP = 1 mile (decent value when redeemed for flights / hotels — up to 70% of booking value)
  • 6 complimentary lounge visits per year (issuer-confirmed)
  • 15% discount at partner premium restaurants + 1,400+ global dining offers
  • Insurance bundle: air accident ₹1 crore, emergency medical ₹25 lakh, baggage delay ₹50,000, credit liability ₹9 lakh
  • SmartBuy multipliers on flight / hotel bookings
Watch out for
  • Closed to new applications since 2025 — existing customers only
  • Diners Club acceptance in India is patchy outside metro merchants
  • Older "2× on international spends / 8 RP per ₹150" framing is not on the current issuer marketing page; if you're still cardholding, confirm the rate with HDFC before relying on it
  • Miles realised value depends on the airline / hotel booking and transfer partner
  • Base earn is below HDFC Diners Black
  • Forex markup 3.5% — high vs newer travel cards

Rewards structure

Per the current issuer page: 4 Reward Points per ₹150 spent. Redemption: 1 RP = 1 mile, usable for flight tickets and hotel stays via the HDFC Diners portal — covering up to 70% of purchase value at the standard redemption rate. Statement-credit / catalogue rates are lower. The previously-marketed "2× on international spends / 8 RP per ₹150" multiplier is no longer visible on the issuer's public marketing page; existing cardholders should reconfirm via MITC or HDFC support before relying on it.

Key benefits

  • 6 complimentary lounge visits per year (per current issuer page; older marketing had cited 8)
  • 15% discount at premium partner restaurants + access to 1,400+ global Diners dining offers
  • SmartBuy flight / hotel multipliers (rate may have changed — verify in current rewards programme)
  • Concierge services for travel needs
  • Insurance bundle: Air accident cover ₹1 crore, emergency medical ₹25 lakh, baggage delay / loss ₹50,000, credit liability ₹9 lakh (issuer-confirmed)

Who the HDFC Diners Club Miles is for

Mid-frequency travellers doing 3-5 trips/year who prefer miles redemption. The ₹1K fee + Y1 free makes this a low-risk Diners entry.

Final verdict

Miles is effectively a travel-tilted Rewardz at the same fee. Pick Miles if you travel 3+ times/year; pick Rewardz if you don't.

FAQ

Can points be redeemed for cash?

Yes — ₹0.40 per point as statement credit. Better value is airline/hotel miles transfer at 1 point = 1 mile typical ratio.

Is there airport transfer benefit?

Miles does not include transfers — that's a Diners Black feature.

Does Miles stack with SmartBuy 10× offers?

SmartBuy on Miles caps at 5×, not 10× like Diners Black.

Fees and features verified against the issuer's public website. Benefits may vary; always confirm current terms with the issuer before applying.
