The Yes Bank Marquee is the bank’s answer to the ₹10K-fee premium tier dominated by HDFC Diners Black, ICICI Sapphiro, and Axis Magnus. It’s a relatively new entrant that punches with travel-focused rewards and concierge access — but the reward economics only work above a specific spend threshold.
Fees and charges
| Joining fee | ₹4,999 + GST |
| Annual fee | ₹4,999 + GST |
| Welcome benefit | 15,000 reward points (~₹15,000 in catalog vouchers) |
| Annual fee waiver | Spend ₹10 lakh / year |
| Foreign markup | 1.75% + GST |
| Finance charges | 3.50% per month / ~42% APR |
How rewards work
- Travel, dining, entertainment: 12 reward points per ₹200 (~3% effective in vouchers)
- Other retail: 6 reward points per ₹200 (~1.5% effective)
- Utility, fuel, insurance, rent, wallet, EMI: 0 reward points (excluded)
- Redemption: 1 RP = ~₹1 in select catalog vouchers; ~₹0.40 cashback
Lounge access
- Domestic: 8 visits/year via MasterCard lounge program (primary card)
- International: 6 visits/year via Priority Pass
- Guest visits: 4/year (counted against above caps)
The milestone benefit
Spend ₹5L in a year and get a complimentary domestic flight voucher worth ₹5,000. Spend ₹10L and get a second voucher PLUS the annual fee waived. The math here is the strongest argument for Marquee — if you’re routing ₹10L+ through it, the effective annual fee is ₹0 and you net ~₹10K in flight vouchers.
Spend level where the fee pays off
| Annual fee + GST | ₹5,899 |
| Welcome benefit (year 1) | ₹15,000 |
| Net cost (year 1) | ₹ “negative” — you’re ahead by ₹9,101 |
| Break-even year 2 (no welcome) | ₹1.97 lakh on travel/dining categories |
Who this card is for
- Best fit: annual spenders ₹7L+ with ₹3L+ in travel/dining/entertainment
- Best fit: existing Yes Bank Private banking customers (no extra eligibility needed)
- Skip if: spend is heavy on rent/utilities/insurance — those earn nothing
- Skip if: total spend is under ₹5L — milestone benefits don’t trigger
Verdict: Excellent value if your spend profile is heavy on travel and dining and you can hit the ₹10L milestone. Below that threshold, HDFC Diners Black and Axis Magnus offer better unconditional value. Marquee’s welcome benefit alone makes year-one a near-certain net positive.
