Rajasthan 10-Day Heritage Circuit 2026 – Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer
10 days is the right amount of time to do Rajasthan justice – any less and you’re racing between forts, any more and the architecture overload sets in. Here’s a circuit that has been tested by hundreds of travelers and rarely fails.
The Loop
Delhi/Mumbai arrival → Jaipur (3N) → Pushkar (1N) → Jodhpur (2N) → Jaisalmer (2N) → Udaipur (2N) → fly out. Train for short hops, car-with-driver for longer routes. Total Rs.30,000-45,000 for 9-day car + driver if you choose that route.
Days 1-3: Jaipur
Day 1: Arrive, check in at heritage hotel like Samode Haveli or budget Pearl Palace. Evening at Hawa Mahal viewpoint, dinner at Niro’s.
Day 2: Amer Fort (elephant ride controversy – skip elephants, jeep is fine), Jaigarh Fort, Jal Mahal photo stop. Lunch at 1135 AD inside Amer. Afternoon Jantar Mantar + City Palace. Evening Choki Dhani (touristy but fun cultural experience).
Day 3: Nahargarh sunrise, breakfast at Padao restaurant atop. Day trip to Sambhar Salt Lake (90 min drive). Evening Bapu Bazaar shopping, dinner at LMB for traditional Marwari thali.
Day 4: Drive to Pushkar (3 hours)
Pushkar Lake, Brahma Temple (one of very few worldwide), Savitri Temple sunset via ropeway. Stay at Inn Seventh Heaven for atmosphere. Evening cafe culture at Out of the Blue. Pushkar Mela in November is iconic but tourist-heavy.
Days 5-6: Jodhpur (5 hours from Pushkar)
Day 5: Arrive Jodhpur by lunch. Mehrangarh Fort entire afternoon (Rs.600 entry includes audio guide – take it). Sunset from fort ramparts overlooking blue city. Dinner at Indique rooftop with fort views.
Day 6: Old city blue houses walk with a local guide (Rs.500), Sardar Market, Jaswant Thada cenotaph, Umaid Bhawan Palace tour. Evening Step Well of Toorji photo stop, dinner at Stepwell Cafe.
Day 7: Drive to Jaisalmer (5.5 hours)
Long drive, break at Pokhran for lunch (yes, the same Pokhran). Reach Jaisalmer by 4 PM. Sunset at Sunset Point overlooking the golden fort glowing. Stay inside the fort at Killa Bhawan or just outside at Suryagarh for luxury.
Day 8: Jaisalmer + Sam Sand Dunes
Morning Jaisalmer Fort tour (only LIVED-IN fort in the world), Patwon ki Haveli, Salim Singh Haveli. Lunch in fort. Afternoon drive to Sam Dunes (40 min). Camel safari at sunset, overnight stay in luxury desert camp with cultural show. Or return to Jaisalmer for hotel sleep.
Day 9: Drive to Udaipur (8 hours – LONG)
Earliest start. Break at Kumbhalgarh Fort (Great Wall of Rajasthan) for lunch and 90-min visit. Reach Udaipur by evening. Check into a Lake Pichola view hotel – Karohi Haveli, Jagat Niwas, or splurge on Taj Lake Palace. Sunset boat on Pichola.
Day 10: Udaipur + Departure
Morning City Palace tour (3 hours, Rs.300), Crystal Gallery (separate ticket, worth it). Lunch at Ambrai with palace views across the lake. Afternoon Saheliyon ki Bari, Bagore ki Haveli evening cultural show 7-8 PM. Late evening flight out from Udaipur or take train.

- Flights: Rs.15,000-30,000 (Delhi-Jaipur in, Udaipur-home out)
- Car + driver 9 days: Rs.30,000-45,000
- 9 nights hotels (mid-heritage mix): Rs.60,000-1,20,000
